Kessler Riesling develops a strong mineral character and powerful aromas, blending white flowers and citrus fruits to more stone-like notes. A direct and slightly supple attack on the palate. The middle mouth is more generous, opening up to a lively finish with a beautiful aromatic persistence.
Les Pinot Gris Kessler présentent un nez franc et expressif. Tasters can perceive dominant candied notes of quince and honey. Aeration amplifies this candied character. The nose is complex and deep. A smooth and tender attack on the palate, leaving behind a slight bitterness.
Gewurztraminer from this Grand Cru has a direct, pleasant and racy nose. It has an average intensity expressing dominant floral and exotic touches. Aeration is not more intense but evokes exotic flowers, complex fragrant notes which reveal the grape ripeness. A smooth, generous and full-bodied attack on the palate. A sap-like finish which keeps a lot of freshness.
The rule here is very ripe.
The location of this Grand Cru, protected from winds with a great exposure, makes Kessler an area with optimum sunshine. It produces wines with charming and succulent structure backed by a direct and harmonious exuberance provided by the sandstone.
Les Riesling possèdent beaucoup de volume en bouche, et déclinent des notes d’herbes à infusion. Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer are often overripe but they maintain their balance and evoke mesmerising exotic fragrances such as mango, as well as grilled notes.
